The inspiration and much of the material for the 10 Tactics project emerged from Tactical Tech's Info-Activism camp in India where 130 rights advocates, technologists and designers from around the world came together to share knowledge, experience and skills. They decided to document the success stories of many of these info-activists to inspire and support others.
10 Tactics uses film as a vehicle to bring groups together, spark discussion and activate new networks of activists interested in exploring the possibilities of digital tools and tactics for campaigning.
The 10 tactics project turns information into action by documenting 35 inspiring stories of info-activism from around the world. The film covers tactics such as how to: mobilise people, present complex data, amplify personal stories, visualise a message, and use humour to communicate a message.
10 Tactics is a project of Tactical Tech. They are currently working with partner organizations to develop 10 tactics DVDs and websites in several languages including Spanish, Arabic and Burmese.
Tactical Tech is an international NGO working at the point where rights advocacy meets information management and technology. Their mission is to advance the skills, tools and techniques of rights advocates, empowering them to utilize information and communications as a critical asset in helping marginalized communities understand and effect progressive social, environmental and political change.
