SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Women have broken into many careers, but audio engineering is a field still very much dominated by men. A San Francisco group called Women's Audio Mission is helping put more women in the line of work.

WAM - Changing the Face of Audio Engineering

At the recent AES (Audio Engineering Society) convention in San Francisco, ZeroDivide grantee and community partner WAM (Womens Audio Mission) was one of the highlighted organizations in a field primarily dominated by men. The conference has been the largest gathering of audio professionals and enthusiasts on the globe, and attracted delegates from over 100 countries worldwide.

WAM (Women's Audio Mission)

Dedicated to the advancement of women in music production and the recording arts, WAM was founded in 2003 by Terri Winston.

ZeroDivide was one of WAM’s very first funders, and the two organizations have now been working together for more than 5 years.

ZeroDivide Chief Strategy Officer Tim Wu recently visited Terri to tour WAM’s current state-of-the-art studio and training facility. Terri and Tim chatted about WAM’s evolving mission, its partnership with ZeroDivide, and Terri’s favorite upcoming WAM projects.
