Youth Get their MoJo on in Hawaii

I’ve recently returned from Maui, HI where our Generation ZD partner, Akaku: Maui Community Television, has launched an innovative digital media program called Project YBEAM (Youth Broadband Education & Awareness Mentoring). Project YBEAM is a youth civic journalism project that seeks to expand access to communications and broadband technology in/for Maui's marginalized communities. Why my future kids won't be getting iPods...

...or any other digital item for that matter. (Ok, ok, I probably won't be able to get out of buying them one, but I can sure try to not let them take it to school...or can I???) It turns out students have figured out how to cheat using their iPods as a method of recording test answers. Now if only they were using their brains to master the test material and not the iPod.
