Understanding and using new media tools are critical skills for today’s health leaders.
More than a billion videos are viewed on YouTube everyday, 193 million people are active Facebook users, and more than half the world’s population now uses mobile phones.
New media and health communication tools, including social media, blogs, digital storytelling, video, virtual communities, Twitter, mobile phones and more, provide powerful new ways for leaders to engage with each other, their constituencies and with communities worldwide.
Tessie Guillermo, ZeroDivide President and CEO, was the keynote speaker on Friday, April 16, on Overcoming the Digital Divide and Using New Media to Improve Health for All.
The UC Berkeley School of Public Health Center for Health Leadership (CHL) is designed to enhance the School's curricular, co-curricular and experiential offerings to inspire and prepare graduate students to be effective health leaders and professionals.
The CHL builds on and expands leadership development activities offered through the Center for Public Health Practice and throughout the School of Public Health (SPH). It includes practice-based seminars, courses, internships and community projects designed to strengthen leadership competencies and opportunities.
