Tessie Guillermo, CEO and President of ZeroDivide, will travel to Boston on Wednesday, February 29th, to accompany a youth delegation for the launch of Lady Gaga’s new Born This Way Foundation. The youth-focused philanthropy will be announcing bold steps to create a culture of bravery, kindness, acceptance and empowerment.

Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia will be joined on stage by Oprah Winfrey, author Deepak Chopra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, and esteemed Harvard Law School professor Charles Ogletree, to discuss the vision of the organization and how the public can get involved.

Ms. Guillermo will be attending in her capacity as Board chair of The California Endowment – lead partners in the event – who are bringing a youth delegation of leaders from their fourteen sites across the state that comprise the Building Health Communities initiative.

The young people received training in social media from Blue State Digital as preparation for the trip. They are now actively posting about their delegation experiences and their perspectives on the theme of bravery, including examples from each of their communities. View the delegation’s Tumblr page.

Ms. Guillermo commented: “I’m incredibly pleased that Lady Gaga is taking action to support young people in creating a world that is more accepting and kind to all people. We’re excited to participate in the launch of the Born This Way Foundation as an expression of ZeroDivide’s own commitment to justice and inclusion.”
