Social Media and the Admin Professional

Social Media and the Admin Professional

April 18-24, 2010 is Administrative Professional Week (APW).  As most of us greet each other next week with a simple "Happy Admin Day" next Wednesday, I was thinking, why not provide folks with a bit of blog info so there is some "meat" behind your greeting.  The role of the Admin Professional (AP) has evolved due to the reliance on technology in the workplace.  It's important for us to understand why it is truly a well-deserved recognition and relevant not only to what we do at ZeroDivide, but in all industries, as organizational dependencies (i.e. internal controls, processes, IT systems, business development, etc.) require evolution and innovation through the use of technology and social media.  In acknowledgement and appreciation of all AP's, here is a recent press release from the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) on their recent survey "Administrative Staff Embracing New Roles." http://www.iaap-hq.org/newsroom/pressreleases/OT-04-01-10.html

Please take a few minutes to read the press release.  You'll be enlightened.
