Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Social Media (But Were Afraid to Ask): A Tech Primer for Grantmakers
Facebook. Twitter. Blogging. You've heard these terms, now come find out how to use them as a grantmaker. This workshop will provide participants with a basic understanding of social media tools and how they can be used to further the practice of grantmaking.
Whether you are interested in using online listening tools to be aware of stakeholder activities, or your foundation is considering how to incorporate social media in a more strategic and proactive fashion—this workshop is intended to provide grantmakers with the fundamentals of how to leverage the ever–evolving technology landscape.
The curriculum used in the trainer-led portion of this workshop is adapted from a recent series of social media posts on NCG's blog, available to review and reference. After the tech primer portion of the workshop, a representative from ZeroDivide will discuss how they are using Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other online tools to advance their foundation's mission. Participants will have time to consider and discuss how they might use these tools in order to strengthen their foundations’ work and the communities served, while raising awareness of their philanthropy to new audiences.
