Is the iPhone really worth it?

For those of you who may not have heard, I was the winner of a 4 gig iPhone one week ago.  Up until last week I had considered myself an "anti-Apple" person.  I had never bought an iPod  and could not understand why anyone would pay $400 for a cell phone.

Well, I am a changed lady.  When I received the iPhone I decided to give it to my boyfriend because I had just bought a new phone and renewed my 2-year contract with my provider.  (I would have had to pay $200 to break the contract.)  The rule was that I would give it to him as long as I could play with it whenever I wanted.  But, once I saw what the phone can do, I was hooked.  I was checking the weather in Walnut Creek while I was in San Francisco, I was checking my e-mail while driving down highway 24, and all without any buttons.  The touch screen is actually very easy to use and perfectly responsive.

So now part of me is wishing that I hadn't given it to my boyfriend.  However, fact is, I did give it to him.  But now I'm debating buying one for myself.  The minute plans are pretty reasonable, and I would never have to ask to borrow his.  Now I understand, and I say, it's worth the $400.  Call me crazy.
