When you work and fund in a place like San Francisco, sometimes it's easy to forget that there's a vibrant (and growing) group of folks doing great community media work outside of SF. In San Diego, the Media Arts Center San Diego is a fabulous media organization that also happens to organize the San Diego Latino Film Festival. CTFC helped fund their Teen Producers program, which brings youth together and teaches them how to create and use stories, in their various formats, to tell stories that are often unheard or forgotten. In a quickly-changing place like San Diego, capturing these stories is essential to the fabric of the community. This year, Teen Producers will be screening their works at the SDLFF on March 13th at 6 PM at Barrio Logan in San Diego. If you're in the San Diego area, please check it out!
