Apply for BAVC's Nonprofit Institute for New Media Apps!

Jocelyn Yin

Last year, with the help of the MacArthur Foundation, the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) launched the Producers Institute, an exciting way for independent producers to create, use, and distribute their content. Nonprofits often face many obstacles to launching new technology projects. As a result, it's hard for nonprofits to be on the cutting edge of implementing new types of technology. With some initial funding from ZeroDivide, BAVC aims to address this gap by launching the inaugural Nonprofit Institute for New Media Applications. This will be a time and place where nonprofits with interesting ideas, combined with some elbow grease, will get an exciting opportunity to work with interesting mentors and new technology and hopefully overcome some of the barriers to adopting technology.
