The MacArthur Foundation announced that BAVC – the Bay Area Video Coalition - is one of 11 recipients of their annual Award for Creative and Effective Organizations.

I walked my 2^nd grader down the halls of his school this year and attended the back to school night which outlines what he will be learning this year.  2^nd Grade marks the first year my son will be officially “tested” to see whether he and the school are achieving state mandated standards.  He will officially become a “statistic”.   Going through the halls provided an opportunity to reflect on my own school experience.   Artwork plastered on the walls, spelling words, journals.

President Obama signed the stimulus bill on Tuesday which gave some
relief to laid off workers who are struggling to get through these
difficult times.  The bill provides temporary COBRA Subsidy for real
