ZeroDivide’s grantee MicroMentor, an initiative of Mercy Corps that connects on-line business mentors to burgeoning entrepreneurs, was featured yesterday on KGO-TV business news with Eric Thomas.

MicroMentor’s innovative social business model and creative use of technology enables fledgling business owners to have multiple mentors across large geographic areas. This free service gives them, particular low-income ones, access to information and expertise they need to grow their businesses. "We're focusing on underserved entrepreneurs, so largely women, minorities, entrepreneurs with disabilities, entrepreneurs in rural areas and in low-income communities," said Jeff Jones Executive Director.

The power of the internet enables entrepreneurs to access advice from around the globe. According to Jones, "We've improved relationship management tools so entrepreneurs can form a virtual advisory board, if you will, and find many different mentors to help with several areas of their business and it's much more social and friendly.”
