ZeroDivide along with partners BAVC and LaClinica are currently the featured grantee on the New Routes website for their collaboration on the Abriendo Las Cajas (Opening Boxes) project as part of the Digital Storytelling Initiative.
Some of the community created media can be viewed here.
Abriendo las Cajas (Opening Boxes) seeks to reduce incidences of domestic violence amongst the Latin American immigrant population in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, and to provide a safe and empowering space for youth, men, and women of this community to share their experiences with their families, community, and general public. The partnership will address systemic violence in the Fruitvale community through the power of digital storytelling.
New Routes to Community Health is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, with direction and technical assistance provided by the Benton Foundation.
