Finding relevent and focused information regarding your community is hard to find in general searches from google and bing. Thats where East Palo Alto based community organization, EPA.net has filled the need. EPA.net has created an online website to support the east palo alto community, while providing structure and skill training to help people move on to colllege education and/or media jobs.
When I visited them, I was amazed at how a group with very few internet skills were within months developing content relavent to the community and also paid projects for other local companies and non-profits. People were ethusiastic regarding the stories and projects, because in most cases it was their idea. EPA.net's dedicated staff deserves great kudos for creating a success oriented stable environment. And on a shoestring, creating an online site beneficial to the community and growth for the incoming class of particiipants.
Check it out, at EPA.net.
