Operations Assistant
The Operations Assistant reports to the CFO/COO and serves as a team member to the Operations team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative tasks and will be able to work well independently as well as in a team environment. The candidate must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy administrative challenges.
Essential Functions
- Manages the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image
- Handles overall administrative activities for the front desk reception
- Maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities
- Purchase of office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc. for the entire staff in accordance with organization purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions
- Maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, etc.
- Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations (such as heat problems, general repairs in the suite, work area issues, daily kitchen tasks, etc.)
- Willingness to serve in an evolving organization yet flexible environment
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills and meet deadlines
- Outstanding communication, organization and interpersonal skills; customer service orientation
- Capability to make good judgments and the ability to work independently
- Participates as needed in special projects
- Other duties as assigned by CFO/COO
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred
- At least two years of administrative experience, preferably at a start-up organization
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications)
- Light accounting a plus but not required
- Adapts well to changing plans and priorities; deals comfortably with ambiguity
- Ability to work independently and assume additional responsibilities as required
- Demonstrates professionalism and a positive customer service attitude
- Maintains focus with sense of urgency while multi tasking
- Maintains strict confidentiality standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as necessary
- Ability to lift approximately 15-20 lbs

Director of IT
ZeroDivide is expanding our services to meet the growing need for technology solutions in the communities we serve. The Director of Information Technology (IT) is a critical part of that and will support our consulting and capacity building efforts.
The ideal candidate will be an IT professional with deep and broad accomplishments in the field of technology. S/he will have experience in developing enterprise-wide solutions and possess a unique ability to “champion” technology with partners for effective implementation. The candidate will have experience with new applications and mobile technology, and work closely with other ZeroDivide team members to develop relevant offerings. S/he will be a team player who can communicate effectively across departments and strive to deepen client relationships. The Director of IT will be personally passionate about using the power of technology for transformative change in underserved communities.
Projects will range from developing program innovations and solutions with our nonprofit and community service providers to planning an assessment for technology infrastructure leading to improved operational efficiency and program effectiveness. Additionally, this position will focus on our expansion into eHealth and the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). While this will be a priority focus, the position will support other business lines including eOpportunity and eDemocracy, as well.
Essential Functions
- Apply problem solving skills to assist internal and external partners on issues related to the design, development and deployment of enterprise-wide IT systems and applications
- Develop culturally relevant/sensitive technology strategies, tools and solutions to support improved outcomes for partners focused on supporting disadvantaged and underserved populations
- Develop plans and set standards and processes for delivery of technology solutions
- Support vendor evaluation and IT decisions on technology investments for ZeroDivide projects
- Participate in new program opportunities and business development
Qualifications
- IT enterprise and applications experience in the field of philanthropy and nonprofit sectors; deep experience in nonprofit/mission-based organizations from technology perspective, systems integration and systems architecture
- Up-to-date understanding of market trends and keen interest in following emerging technologies
- High level knowledge of cloud computing concepts, various frameworks, data storage implementations, and enterprise design patterns
- Expert knowledge of modern web technologies, social networking platforms and mobile platforms
- Strong technical skills for managing a CRM application
- Firm grasp in emerging technologies such as Web 2.0 applications, mobile devices and wireless technologies
- Solid understanding of Mac/PC operating systems and the use of mobile devices to enhance organizational productivity
- Understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts
- Design of operating systems, workflow, policies, and procedures
- Advanced ability to analyze business requirements quickly to determine and assess feasibility
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical staff from various cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated leadership and advanced communication skills to support managing client partnerships and manage teams of 5+ staff members
- Work flexibility with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Health sector experience strongly desired, with particular emphasis on eHealth, and knowledge of requirements for ACA implementation and its impact on underserved communities
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA or Masters degree preferred)

Business Development Manager
ZeroDivide is seeking a creative development professional to write thorough, polished grant proposals to meet the organization’s business development goals. The business development manager will work with senior staff to identify potential clients and donors, establish trusted relationships, write proposals and secure new projects. The successful candidate will have broad fundraising experience, exceptional writing and presentation skills, experience developing fundraising pitches and campaigns, and ability to remain calm and collected under tight deadlines.
As ZeroDivide refines its business model, we require a business development manager with an understanding of both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors who can help solidify our position as a leading technology and social impact organization.
Essential Functions
The business development manager will be responsible for grant proposal and pitch writing, and other business development activities, including external communications, prospective and client presentations and relationship building. Writing grant proposals and interfacing with clients and partners will be key aspects of this position. She or he will report to the Vice President of Business Development and Communications and may oversee junior staff members.
The business development manager can be a consulting position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, English, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field
- Five or more years of progressively responsible grant writing, marketing/fundraising, grants management and/or business development experience, or a combination of related work experience, training and education
- Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail, proven experience writing grant proposals, with an ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
- Ability to write compelling and authentic grant proposals for nonprofit, philanthropic and government audiences
- Ability to identify funding prospects, develop pitches, establish contacts, build relationships alone or through others, conduct client meetings and close deals
- An eye for visual presentation and experience developing collateral marketing and branding materials with PowerPoint, Prezi and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Exceptional talent in developing and conducting presentations for executive-level clients, as well as the ability to interface with diverse constituencies
- A high level of comfort engaging Board members and senior staff, and working with them to build relationships with potential partners, clients and donors
- Experience working in the philanthropic and/or nonprofit sector, especially with organizations serving diverse and underserved communities
- Ability to be self-directed, as well as to work collaboratively with a team
- Confidence, adaptability and motivation

- Public speaking experience
- Experience developing marketing materials for iPad presentation
- Subject-matter expertise in one or more of ZeroDivide’s issue areas: workforce development, education, youth development, health, civic engagement or technology
